A little pressure is the lift I need to hurdle over limitations and expectations.

Pressure can be my invigorating teammate. My work benefits from applying gentle pressure to myself. It motivates me to do my best.

I thrive under pressure because I am a positive person. I choose to use it as a performance enhancer. While others get bent out of shape by pressure, I use it to my advantage.

With the right dose of pressure, I can conquer fear and self doubt. I can fly over mountains and accomplish things I never would have accomplished if I worked with mediocrity instead. Limitations are feeble against me when I am on a mission.

When under pressure, I only use my time for progress. Therefore, I stay away from hesitation and procrastination. I simply launch myself into action. Under a little pressure I find that I do not have time to doubt myself. I charge forward simply trying my best. Second guessing myself is out of the question.

If I don’t feel like I have the strength to finish something Ive started, a little dose of pressure clears up my view quickly. It is in my nature to impress and to perform above the rest.

When others make demands of me, it is because they believe in me. Pressure propels me to exceed their expectations. I embrace the challenge and perform better than I could ever imagine.

I welcome all forms of pressure including competition, deadlines, evaluations, and high expectations. No matter what the challenge is before me, I am ready to leap over it.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How can I use pressure to my advantage?
2. What pressures are before me today?
3. What would my life look like if I was satisfied with the status quo?

Uncertainty does not sway me from my plan of action.

Uncertainty is a necessary part of growing and developing into the person I was intended to be. While it may feel comforting to have certainty in my environment, direction, and work, it also means that I am no longer pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.

Because I want to be the best person I can possibly be, I accept uncertainty as an inevitable byproduct of risk and growth.

Uncertainty does not sway me from my plans because I have used my intelligence and the counsel of wise mentors to decide which avenue is right for me. Because I avoid impulse and make decisions wisely, I am confident that uncertainty is simply a part of the journey that I need to overcome in order to discover all that is before me.

I ignore thoughts that tell me that uncertainty is a sign of imminent failure. On the contrary, I view uncertainty as a sign of positive change that leads me to a more fulfilling life.

I may make mistakes, but I remain open to the lessons I can learn from them, knowing that I will thrive only by remaining open to uncertainty.

Questions of Reflection:

1.    Do I look at uncertainty as friend or foe?
2.    How might I be a better person by accepting uncertainty?
3.    How do I deal with thoughts of uncertainty?

My resilience and calmness inoculate me from external pressures.

Life contains plenty of challenges, but I am able to anticipate these challenges thoughtfully. I am able to be calm and resilient, which inoculates me from the effects of external pressures.

I wouldn’t go out for a hike over snow-covered hills in my jeans and sneakers. If I chose to do so, I’d be plenty uncomfortable, at best. If I stayed exposed to the elements for long in that condition, I would be putting myself in danger. Instead, I prepare for the excursion with adequate clothing, sufficient food supplies, and a means of calling for help if I get lost. Through preparation, I am ready – and eager – for an adventure.

By putting myself out there, I can experience beauty and wonder in a way that isn’t possible from within my comfort zone. The success or failure of my life journey depends far more on how I prepare for my excursion than on the circumstances themselves.

I don’t shy away from challenges simply because they have the potential to stretch or stress me. Instead, I plan ahead, knowing that I can handle anything with adequate preparation.

Situations may be tough from time to time, but I remain composed if I must tuck my head and march into the wind. Doing so may not always be pleasant, but because I am prepared, I am able to deal effectively and calmly with any challenge in my way.

Questions of Reflection:

1.    Do I miss out on opportunities out of fear?
2.    How do I prepare for inevitable challenges in my life?
3.    What can I do, now, to be calm when challenges arise?
